It is July 1951 as we see T&P pacific # 706 beneath the shed of the Shreveport La passenger station in that gosh awful eagle paint scheme. Six 4-8-2's that shared that paint scheme were mercifully restored to the standard light russia scheme in 1949. 706 will be retired in the eagle scheme. Steam was dying fast on the T&P at this time. The last 2-10-4 ran in August 1951 and 706 would not last another two months.

PS: Those Missouri Pacific class light fixtures must have been liberated in Alexandria La where the T&P and MP share facilities.

I LIKE THE EAGLE PAINT SCHEME-could someone show it in color?

I have a movie film made by K Vollrath more me and it has one in color for a few minutes. (It still was ugly to me) I don't know of anyone who took a color picture of it. K didn't.
