I'm glad to see Rich is still running his #70. He has not made a trip out to the West Coast in quite some time. He has sold the plans and castings business to Bruno Platzer in Las Vegas.

Rich built a lot of equipment for a friend of mine, including a West Side Shay #15, A K-27 and two exquisitely detailed coach cars.

Mike and CZ, just out of curiosity, did any of you live steam builders ever craft a builders plate of your own to attach to your handiwork?

What gage does the club operate and is the #70 on 15" gage? Does the club also have 7 1/4, or 7 1/2 gage?

Wow, that is a beautiful piece of work! I believe this is 7-1/2" gauge. Real craftsmanship. If I were younger, I would do some kind of live steam now that 1522 is retired.

PlyWoody,

The No.70 you see is a 2-1/2" scale, 7-1/2" gauge C&S 2-8-0. CLS has 7-1/2" gauge track on the ground and elevated 4-3/4" and 3-1/2" gauge.

NYCman, you can buy builders plates custom made from a fella in New England.
