Hmm, I've attached a snippet of his LinkedIn profile and I believe I see part of the problem... "Lead and direct the ongoing maintenance required to keep UP's heritage diesel power operational. Manage and maintain the rotary snow plow based in Cheyenne and direct its operation when called into service." Well.. from what *I* hear, the E's and the 6900 are maintained and inspected by the diesel shops rather than the steam shop... and I'm not sure that the rotary's have even moved recently. I'm sure there are other responsibilities, but as I recall he was the Director/Manager/Something of one the the Diesel shops... you would think it would be a given. -Dave Edited 1 time(s). For what it's worth,,,,,, NOBODY in that shop knows ANYTHING about the big diesel powered rotary snow plow, nor the 6936, nor the three executive E units! Date: 09/18/17 18:13 Re: Latest news from the UP Cheyenne Steam Shop! Author: NKPBernet HotWater Wrote:

I'm not entirely surprised, but aren't the E's basically a GP-38 in an E Carbody, or something similar? -Dave Date: 09/18/17 18:19 Re: Latest news from the UP Cheyenne Steam Shop! Author: callum_out That's exactly what they are, any more simple and they'd be a GP9!

Author: dcfbalcoS1 I have no knowledge of the guy that was let go but it is very common in business to have a total incompetent in a high position that does recognize others below him that 'know things' and that cannot be tolerated. Those employees have to go out the door quickly so as to not be a threat to the nitwit above. This happens in politics too. It will continue until someone who really knows what needs to be done and is bold enough steps up and stops the years and years of crap.

Was this due to his lack of activity? Or did Ed stab him in the back? Or worse, does UP believe Ed doesn't need supervision anymore??
