Went to Milwaukee for Beecherfest and on Saturday photographed SOO 1003 for the first time.

1. West of Rubicon WI

2. Coming into Horicon

3. At Horicon

Those are really nice photos of a locomotive who,
sad to say, few pay much attention to. I agree --
your second photo is superb and timeless. Glad you
got to see and photograph her.

(For those who don't know, as I didn't: she's a
coal-fired 1913 ALCO 2-8-2 with 63-inch drivers,
and runs at 170 psi BP. Nice locomotive!)

So all those that showed up trackside this past August to see it run down to Chicago and back don't count?
It's a fine locomotive but it does not seem to get out very much.

What do you mean? I have had several rides and taken many negatives and slides of SOO steam (and diesel) locomotives. I have been a SOO fan for than 70 years. wag216

No, all of you loyal followers DO count especially those from this summer, just too bad it isn't more..

Those who followed the trip to and from Chicago, and made the effort to do so, really made it a great time for us.. The limited amount we get out, is made special because our time out puts smiles on your faces..
