Steam & Excursion > Paint color question PRR steam

Hi guys, I need help confirming the color shade that PRR painted their S-2 Turbine 6-8-6. I have pics which look to me black but I know they used on some that Brunswick black which had a tinge of green, so what is the definitive on that specific class/model

It's actually Brunswick green, not black, and in fact was called "dark green locomotive enamel" by the railroad. It was indeed almost black when fresh, but it had a copper base and became more greenish as it faded. As far as the S-2 I couldn't find any color pictures in a search, only a contemporary painting or two and they show it as Brunswick green. I have a couple sources I'll try to check tomorrow -- I'm interested in knowing myself.
