May I suggest that you use the SEARCH function for all the various discussions, here on the Steam & Excursion board, about this. Date: 02/20/18 13:58 Re: PTC and Steam Author: Realist CZ10 Wrote:

If the steam loco is not PTC equipped but the diesel and the territory are so equipped, the diesel will have to lead. No exceptions. I've been on the crew with Doyle since 1975, so yes, you could say we are all "working on PTC". Date: 02/20/18 16:28 Re: PTC and Steam Author: jst3751 HotWater Wrote:

Getting it to work will really not be our problem. Getting it to interface with the current BNSF system, plus finding a place to mount all that electronics/computer crap, will be much more of a challenge. There has got to be an app for that.....:) Posted from iPhone Date: 02/21/18 05:53 Re: PTC and Steam Author: Bob3985 Since the UP had already installed CCS/ATS on both 844 and 3985, it shouldn't be as difficult to add in the PTC function. Like Jack said it is just the matter of making room.

There is video of it being on Steam Locomotives in Brazil from like 4 or 5 years ago...I think... Anything can be done...it’s paying for it, testing it, and keeping it working and updated that’s going to be the challenge. But of course it also still needs to be approved by the FRA...
