On September 27, 2015, Southern 4501 is seen highballing out of Tennille, GA leading the Nancy Hanks Special westbound on the former CofG back to Macon.

IIRC, that sounds like the same whistle that was used on 4501 back in the 1970's. I recorded got a sequence in Dismal Hollow (Manassas-Front Royal line )where 4501 was approaching EB in the left channel and the echoes from the whistle raced back from right to left. Eerie!!! What kind of whistle is it?

The whistle she was retired and went to the K&T with. Cast at the Southern Rwy foundry at Lenoir City, TN and machined at Princeton, IN. Princeton was her last home shop.

Ohhhh..... That's a gorgeous whistle! Sooooo beautiful!! Nice-looking long train, to, and with a proper obs -- round-end, too, at the end. Nice! Glad ya got the people in your video, as PEOPLE are why these beautiful and very impressive engines run in the first placce.

4501 maybe 107 years old but with her mechanical improvements she is still the Queen of the South.
