That's A Wrap! SP #4449 Is Back Home!
Author: LoggerHogger

Well, what a week it was. The Friends of SP 4449 Inc. appreciate all the nice comments on our week long filming for Stephen Low and his IMAX group. BNSF was a wonderful host, as always, and we are glad we could pull this off for them.

We have been working on this filming for over a year. Sure, it was tough to keep this a secret, but the results are worth it. We helped a wonderful host railroad, assisted in a a great movie project, and put a few dollars in the bank for SP #4449.

We found a new vigor in making this a success after the stunning Amtrak announcement just a couple weeks earlier. This gave us a chance to prove that mainline steam was indeed not over!

Don't count us out, stay tuned for our next adventure!

Thank you, Martin, for posting this great tribute to the Friends and the BNSF and the IMAX crew! One year of preparation? And every one of you did succeed in keeping all of it a secret. What a great accomplishment in this era! Well done!

In question though, what movie will 4449 be staring in?

The IMAX film TRAINTIME is being directed by Stephen Low about the inner workings of a modern main line railroad focusing on BNSF. The film is expected to be released in 2019. http://www.stephenlow.com/project/train-time/
Also see TRAINS magazine.

[ ReplyAnd Stephen Low was the director of "Rocky Mountain Express" A 2011 IMAX film about the Canadian Pacific Railway featuring that most lovely Hudson CP 2816. Great News indeed!!

Did the 4449 go to any other destinations or directions besides Wishram during this weeks movie production?

Not bad, aside from the unwashed and poorly maintained Explorer I was riding in on the left there.

And you know that the car was "poorly maintained" by just a photo? Typical these days of people who have nothing nice to say about anything, including a great photo and a great engine!

Actually, I was just a passenger, that's my brother's work rig. The little arm out the window belongs to my kiddo in the videos posted in the thread above this one. :)
