The Friends of SP 4449 Inc. appreciate all the nice comments on our week long filming for Stephen Low and his IMAX group. BNSF was a wonderful host, as always, and we are glad we could pull this off for them.
We have been working on this filming for over a year. Sure, it was tough to keep this a secret, but the results are worth it. We helped a wonderful host railroad, assisted in a a great movie project, and put a few dollars in the bank for SP #4449. We found a new vigor in making this a success after the stunning Amtrak announcement just a couple weeks earlier. This gave us a chance to prove that mainline steam was indeed not over! The IMAX film TRAINTIME is being directed by Stephen Low about the inner workings of a modern main line railroad focusing on BNSF.
