Thanks for sharing. I understand the tower was built from scratch and named after a tower operator/railfan? And the levers came from a real tower. I'd say they did a great job.

The tower was patterned after the I.C. tower at Gibson City, Illinois. The levers came from Gibson City and Tuscola, Illinois. The tower was named after the late Richard Stair, a retired Illinois Central operator and long time museum member.

Really nice photo. The low switch stand draws your eye to that first then the steam engine and tower in the background. Not forgetting the red switch at the right.

Thanks for clarifying that Mary. I recall that the late Jim Boyd had said that Richard introduced a number of railfans to each other.
