Steam & Excursion > A Classic Steam Powered Branchline Passenger Train At The Depot!Date: 05/24/18 04:32 A Classic Steam Powered Branchline Passenger Train At The Depot! Author: LoggerHogger There is no date for this photo but it appears that it is the 1940's. The place is Springville, Utah just outside Provo.
The short consist leads one to believe this is a branchline passenger train on the D&RG. Maybe one of our members has more they can ad to this wonderful scene. Martin Edited 3 time(s). Sharp, low light and subject matter excellent!

It encompasses all that was railroading back then, a 4-6-2 I believe, the Springville Depot with Clear train order signals, a short train with a baggage/baggage coach and a coach, and great Utah scenery.
Bob Krieger Cheyenne, WY Date: 05/24/18 07:42 Re: A Classic Steam Powered Branchline Passenger Train At The Dep Author: up3985 I think it's a 4-6-0. If I was going to build a 15" gauge live steam engine, I think I'd build it close to this. Wonderful scene.

Railway Express Agency and the U.S. Postal Service! Date: 05/24/18 14:30 Re: A Classic Steam Powered Branchline Passenger Train At The Dep Author: lynnpowell This 4-6-0 is a first cousin to WP #94, very possibly built from the same blueprints.

Any idea who the photographer was? Emil Albrecht photographed 788 in Provo in 1947 with a similar consist, with just one passenger coach added. I painted my brass PFM T-29 as 788 because of this local connection.
