4449 Takes Over American Freedom Train

This was taken at C&NW's Proviso yard near Chicago in August 1975. As I recall, the 4449 was taken over from a Reading T-1(?) that handled the eastern portion of the tour.

You mean 1975- in August 1976 we were nowhere near Chicago and behind the T-1 the entire month.

I love the Daylight paint, but this Red White and Blue scheme is the cat's ass. It makes every detail of the engine stand out.

Great stuff. Keep the photos of 4449 in RW&B coming!
