Steam & Excursion > Todays ride behind 844

This week Ed offered a ride to Greeley for a few of us from Cheyenne. So Jim Ehernberger and I accepted that offer and rode the train and Bob Fryml picked us up and brought us back to Cheyenne.It was a good time and I got to meet several new company officers.
So;
First here is the train pulling out of the old yard tracks.
Second is a shot taken turning south west of Cheyenne on 4 track as 3 and 4 separate from 1 & 2 tracks. That is the Dyno-Nobel's chemical plant in the background.
Third is a shot I took as they backed off on the throttle on the approach to Speer Junction as they prepare to head south on the Denver line.

And finally here is a shot on the shady side as we turn to the right passing behind the Terry Bison Ranck land. Unfortunately the Bison were not grazing on the back side of their land up against the railroad.

All in all it was a good trip and after all, like I always say, any traveling on the railroad is a good day.
The train makes its Denver Post Charities round tri[ to Cheyenne on Saturday as always and then On Sunday the return trip is a fund raiser for the UP Museum in Council Bluffs.
I believe tickets may still be available for that trip with various classes of fare.

I thought about interior photos of some of the cars but the vestibules were so packed that moving about would not have been very easy. So I passed.
