Leaving Ft. Wayne, Ind. after 10:00 a.m. and heading towards Fostoria, Bellevue, Ohio. From Bellevue it will continue to travel east towards Cleveland and departing on CSX towards Akron where it will spend time on Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad excursion trips through Peninsula, Ohio. Ed ( Eddie ) Durnwald Fostoria, Ohio Date: 08/24/18 04:50 Re: NKP - Nickel Plate Road - 765 Author: Thoroughbred-Ed In past years NKP 765 would travel from Bellevue using
W&LE - Wheeling and Lake Erie to Akron. This will not happen this year as W&LE will not allow. Most likely because of Insurance reasons. Date: 08/24/18 05:14 Re: NKP - Nickel Plate Road - 765 Author: akpsteam 765 should have the California Zephyr cars that the CVSR purchased tagging along to Akron.

Yes, it DOES look much beter without them, but they serve an important purpose when they ARE on there, and THAT is all that matters. It's an EXTREMELY small price to pay if it makes ferrying the locomotive from place to place easier and more cost effective. |
