Wow, an unforgettable experience to be sure!

Some people are good, most are just lucky. I was just exceedingly lucky that evening...

Thanks to everybody on the C&TS, the Friends of the C&TS and everyone who was a part of these great trips.

It held a lantern and is accessible from inside. I’m not entirely sure if it was used as a rear marker, or to signal the head end.
I suspect the latter, but I’ll let someone who actually KNOWS stuff to say...

I believe that SR is correct in that the cupola lamp box was used as a marker in the early days.
