The schedule was lengthen by about ten minutes to allow watering in Hamilton. Therefore they operated at track speed of 90. At Nigagra Falls they operated a side trip to Yager Wye so the train could be turned. I recall it was about a forty mile side trip and at the time I rode it with the US/Canada exchange the ticket cost for the Yager Wye trip was $5.00. I would have said the same thing in response to your question. However they ran Wednesdays and Saturdays (If I remember correctly). Jim Boyd did a fantastic story in an issue of Railfan of these trips. Having done the trip a few times flying through some of the GO Transit stations with people waiting for a following GO train and watching their shocked reactions as we stormed through was more than worth the price of admission. Great memories!!! |
