Torch Lake #3
Author: columbusrailnut

Tomorrow at the Henry Ford museum Torch Lake number three will turn 145 years old making her the oldest operating locomotive in the country. Tonight the crew spent extra time polishing and cleaning for her special day. A special thank you goes out to Matt and his crew for showing me around the shop and for the wonderful work they do everyday to preserve steam.

It is a mason bogie. Build number 518 by mason machine works Taunton, Ma. Believed to be the only Mason bogie left.

Nice to see she's still going.  I first rode behind her there in 1983!
