Steam & Excursion > 774 - The Camel's Last Caravan

The last operating steamer on the Jersey Central was their ten wheeler 4-6-0 #774. Trips were run the year before but this date is April 1955. As I recall, we ran from Elizabeth Port to Bridgeton, NJ. Dad took me on the runs in 1954 but it was on this trip that I took my first photo with his Burleigh Brooks 6x9 folding camera. That B&W print still hangs in my office.

Unfortunately, the Camel met the torch shortly after this excursion.
