Congatulations on a long career and retirement now, Earl.  I sure hope you will not "retire" from the history and facts and technical info you provide to us here on the steam board.

Congratulations Earl!
We met many years ago in La Veta when you were the engineer on 1744 and we discussed SP 786 as I was a volunteer when it got first restored back to operations.
I don't recommend a rocking chair, with your talent and experience, you can make some good money $$$ as a consultant on steam restoration projects.
We discussed someone who will go un-named from Austin, TX.
Good luck, no rocking chair, keep doing what you have knowlege and experience for, steam, and keep on a roccking.
High Ball!
Pat
