Way back in February of 2015 I headed out towards central Pennsylvania and ventured into the woods in Mt Union hunting narrow guage critters and encountered quite a few species, some of which may be extinct today: "Narrow Guage Twacks" Face to face in the woods with a narrow guage flat car Narrow guage flat car grazing - turned out to be quite docile. -more- Date: 01/06/19 10:45 Re: Hunting Narrow Gauge in the Woods of Central PA (EBT) Author: Mgoldman An elusive narrow guage tank car spotted in the woods...
Narrow guage lair - with a standard guage locomotive found inside hibernating! EBT hopper cars - snuggling during a long hibernation. - more - Date: 01/06/19 11:01 Re: Hunting Narrow Gauge in the Woods of Central PA (EBT) Author: Mgoldman The day prior saw blue skies - and critters out and about in the woods:
Narrow guage hopper cars as far as the eye can see. (Today, I beleive the open track is occupided by an invasive species, primarily, modern day standard guage hoppers stored by Norfolk Southern) Rows and rows of hopper cars - a substancial number of hoppers that did not migrate to Colorado, New Mexico, Oregon or Alaska. Narrow guage box car and hopper (In a culling of the heard, back in 2013, sadly, several standard guage box cars were found and erradicated) - more - Date: 01/06/19 11:19 Re: Hunting Narrow Gauge in the Woods of Central PA (EBT) Author: cozephyr Thanks for locating the remaining herd-amazing so many cars still remain.

hopper sits atop a hill by a transload ramp - what an amazing place this must have been... and remains today. Honestly, in my opinion every bit as impres- sive in its own unique way as the remnents of the EBT on the opposite end of the line in Orbisonia. Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints. /Mitch Friends of the East Broad Top Donate here: https://febt.org/donate.html#b Join here: https://febt.org/Costore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=120&products_id=601 Date: 01/06/19 11:49 Re: Hunting Narrow Gauge in the Woods of Central PA (EBT) Author: refarkas The past is present through your photos.
