------------------------------------------------------- > He must have done the job they sent him for That's a logical conclusion. Mr. George ran the Little Rock Yard (Jenks) before coming to Cheyenne, so being in charge of Council Bluffs Yard is right up his alley. Precision Scheduled Manager, and I say this in a GOOD way. :-) TRAINS interviewed CEO Lance Fritz about UP Steam, and it was discussed here on TO at the beginning of December 2018. My understanding of corporate politics has triggered warning signs regarding the program based on how Mr. Fritz answered the questions. A capable manager is transferred out of a department well in advance of its abolishment, even though Mr. George is technically still in charge of the program. I hope I'm wrong, but I figure I say this now. Date: 01/13/19 17:25 Re: Scott George UP Steam Author: HotWater cchan006 Wrote:

Mr. George ran the > Little Rock Yard (Jenks) To be accurate, he was the Facilities Manager or Director, of the Jenks Locomotive Shop, which was NOT related to the North Little Rock "yard". before coming to > Cheyenne, so being in charge of Council Bluffs > Yard is right up his alley. Just my opinion but, I'm not so sure of that, as he has a BS in Electrical Engineering, which was indeed "right up his alley" when he was at the Jenks Diesel Shop. Thanks for the corrections and the accurate details about Mr. George. My opinion about the UP Steam hasn't changed. Date: 01/13/19 17:46 Re: Scott George UP Steam Author: callum_out Jack's comment is very valid in that his degree would allow him a nice position at Jenks or North Platte and not
much else. At one time UP had a controls group but the OEM MOW stuff has gotten so advanced that the group became unneeded. Out Date: 01/13/19 17:47 Re: Scott George UP Steam Author: bankshotone cchan006 Wrote:

If Realist was still active I'll bet he would post a book on this topic! Posted from Android Date: 01/14/19 03:52 Re: Scott George UP Steam Author: sgriggs callum_out Wrote:

MOW=Maintenance of way. I assume OEM is Original equipment manufacturer. Posted from Android Date: 01/14/19 10:12 Re: Scott George UP Steam Author: callum_out That would be Plasser for one as an OEM, their Maintenance of Way equipment is on a technical level
well above what railroads would internally design or require in days past. Out Date: 01/14/19 10:42 Re: Scott George UP Steam Author: TexasEagle77 What happened to Realist?

------------------------------------------------------- > he is fine , think he has non disclosure agreement That sounds bizarre. He doesn't work for the U.P.anymore so I don't know why that would be. The last I seen any post from him was about the same time Todd told everyone to tone it down regarding U. P. steam.
