Steam & Excursion > Stop, Look and Listen

A cold day in central Michigan sees a local farmer prudently keeping his distance from the crossing as a C&O passenger train bears down. 

Credit Lerro Productions, the Steam Railroading Institute and a friendly local antique car buff for helping to create this timeless scene this past weekend. 1225 looked great with a modest coating of road grime and no frills - just what you would expect to see of a working locomotive in the dead of winter. Well done and thanks, all!

Here's a color version at the same crossing. Funny how that exact same car kept showing up at other locations!  Thanks to Pete for organizing and to the car owner for participation. Another good two days in Michigan...and the closest charter to my home I've ever done.
