Bob Krieger Cheyenne, WY Date: 02/16/19 07:05 Re: and here's SOO #2719 w/passenger train on a bridge Author: aehouse Apparently a fan trip, as white flags are evident and the two baggage/express cars have what appear to be temporary railing across the doors, with fans gathered behind them.

Date: 02/16/19 14:47 Re: and here's SOO #2719 w/passenger train on a bridge Author: CPengineer This was one of the first fantrips with 2719 (you can tell because she's all-black; she got "dolled up" with white trim on her drive wheels and running board edges for the "last run" in 1959). Location is Camden Place on Soo Line's Mississippi River Bridge. The train has departed the downtown Minneapolis depot and is using the wye (yes, there was a wye on the bridge) to head towards Shoreham Yard. This structure is still used today by CP, but the wye section the train is on has been abandoned and there is no longer a switch in the middle of the bridge.

One of my favorite railroads since I lived near it and criscrossed all over it's system. What a bridge. That would make one heck of a model, with a switch and Y on it to boot.
Thanks for that photo. Craig Hanson Vay, Idaho |
