Steam & Excursion > Happy Easter written on Steam!!

I think I posted this many years ago here, but thought I might do so again given the time of year.  It was Easter in 1975, and there was little railroad operation due to the weekend.  Thus my traveling friend from the UK and I decided to spend time at the roundhouse and engine facility in Rheine (Rhine-AH), which is north of Cologne.
There was a huge gathering of 2-10-0's, 2-8-2's, and the last bastion of the 4-6-2 3-cylinder engines.  I believe there were 6 of them left at this time.  I had ridden the cab of 012-075 about 10 days earlier, and wanted to get back to Germany before these engines were withdrawn.  This was March, and in May they were taken out of service as planned.  My guess is there were something like 80 engines here that day!  Someone wrote on the smokebox of 012-055, Frohe Ostern (Happy Easter), so it was worthy of a slide!
