Steam & Excursion > 4014 & 844 fired up todayDate: 05/18/19 12:18 4014 & 844 fired up today Author: sptno I noticed this morning that both 4014 and 844 were fired up again I guess to keep the boiler pressure up and ready for Sunday's departure.
When I was with the steam train group here in Austin and ran the steam locomotive, depending on the outdoor temps, is what determined when it was steamed up. If it was cold, steam up was started on Thursday, warm/hot, steam up on Friday morning. Each steam up was slow so as not to over stress the boiler. Pat |
