Steam & Excursion > Big Boy will be on display in West Chicago

The Big Boy will be on a 3 day display in Chicago (July 27, 28, 29)  Location will be the U.P Training center in West Chicago (335 Spencer Street)

This is located directly across from Metra"s West Chicago station (on the C&NW line to Geneva)

However, my Google search makes it look like there is no way to cross the tracks to get to the training center (no streets or sidewalks)

Can anybody help with this?

There are sidewalks on the overpass. If that's too far to walk, then try Uber or Lyft.

There is a road overpass immediately West of the location.

That is Chicago. I am very sure that someone in City Hall, plus others in the City management got dinero for the construction of the bridge.

Actually it is NOT Chicago, but West Chicago, which is more than 25 miles west of the city of Chicago. Someone might want to check maps of Illinois to see where West Chicago really is.

The bridge crosses 4 tracks and is nowhere near a 20 minute walk from one side to the other.

Actually NOBODY cares. Everybody else knows it's was an honest mistake. Most people don't sit around at their computer all day and complain about every little mistake somebody makes. Sure be nice if for once people would grow up and stop be such a scrooge.

I’m with HotWater on this one. The constant sniping at all things Chicago by certain folks got old a long time ago.

So come on out to West Chicago and enjoy the 4014.

I'll be there as it's only a few min. from where I live now. I'm trying to find a good spot to see it come in on friday or possibly even chase it if it's not too crazy. I was over by the center the other day and thought the display track looked a little rough. They moved a CGW tank car and UP box car off the tracks yesterday. Perhaps replacing the tracks?

Will the display be set up next to the police station or next to the Metra station/main line?

In either case, it would be visible from the Metra station platform.

      And the gauge of 4ft 8 1/2" has absolutely NOTHING to do with anyone being able to cross or not.
