Steam & Excursion > Long excursion with PM 2-8-4 1225Date: 08/22/19 18:54 Long excursion with PM 2-8-4 1225 Author: LTCerny One upcoming excursion with big steam I haven;t heard mentioned on Trainorders is the October 5 round trip with 2-8-4 1225 From Mt. Pleasant to Cadillac, Michigan. This is a 130-mile round trip, plus another 110 miles getting from and returning to 1225's base at Owosso. There's a wye at Cadillac, and on a similar excursion in the past the engine ran forward in both directions without diesel assistance...

I just wish I could make it out there to see it. I am glad it gets a chance for a longer excursion.

Thanks for posting this. 1225 is one locomotive that I have not seen in action yet despite it only be a few hours away.
