Steam & Excursion > Western MD Scenic wants more state money

WCBC radio has reported on 9/13/19, that WMSR has requested $250K from the Maryland Board of Public Works.
WMSR CEO John Garner wants $218K for maintenance and operations costs, and $32K for brush cutting projects.
The request was made on 7/29/19, 2 weeks before a scathing audit report was released that criticized many aspects of WMSR operations.
All has been silent about the 1309.

It says about #1309 however..... =12pxHopes for success have long been tied to the proposed debut of the 1309 steam engine- which the letter states will be sometime next year.

This is one sad situation.  So many people have been disappointed over the past few years.  I personally do not want to see this rail operation closed down; however, the way things are going anything is possible.  Let's hope for the best.  It is a very scenic train ride and it should do well once the 1309 is in operation.  But meanwhile ????

At some point the Goose that lays the Golden Egg is gonna say " no ". Seems to me that you can't keep begging for more and more money when you're not keeping your promises.

   I'm told by friends in that area that the County has informed them that there will be no further County funds until/unless the 1309 is in regular service???

   Not a good situation for sure.

The state HAS to help the WMSR in order to keep the area's economic structure going. Just a friendly and optimistic reminder.

Is this Garner guy on thin ice? One might think so.

What is =12px ? I've looked for an answer' but to no avail! Am I missing something here? Is it for bold type? If so, why not type it in BOLD FONT!!!

Sometimes, =12px shows up when the poster is previewing his post before posting it.

Tell ya what, I will do the brush clearing for $25,000

For now, I will keep my film,  (yes FILM),  in the refrigerator, until the test run takes place.
