Steam & Excursion > 10-6-19 @ Strasburg w/#611,#382,#90, and friendsDate: 10/07/19 07:32 10-6-19 @ Strasburg w/#611,#382,#90, and friends Author: warren1977 A few more shots from yesterday's morning Lerro photo charter on the Strasburg RR in Lancaster County,PA.
As I mentioned in my previous thread regarding "tractor girl", the weather grew more challenging as the day went on. This was my first trip with Lerro, and was impressed. We were able to get 3 active steam engines after 11 a.m. when the regular Strasburg excursion came by with 2-10-0 #90. A westbound Amtrak to Harrisburg also came through while we were there.

This would have been better, IMO, with a few more few freight cars from 611's consist, in fact it would have been great if #382 had dropped the passenger cars and done a couple of freight car runs.
It was great to finally see and hear an engine that I've only experienced via O. Winston Link CDs. You must be a registered subscriber to watch videos. Join Today! Date: 10/07/19 08:08 Re: 10-6-19 @ Strasburg w/#611,#382,#90, and friends Author: Bucyrus-Erie More great photos, thanks

Much like 4501 standing in for an L&N Mike or 3985 renumbered 3967 many years back. It's for the fun of it, and cool if you're into such things. Winston Link fame, along with the centered headlight it had during the last year of its Abingdon,VA. branch service ("Virginia Creeper") in 1957. This was done on Saturday night and the engine will be restored to 475 after today. The Abingdon branch had about 3 Class M 4-8-0s assigned with #382 and #429 the most used. The 2 photo charters that featured this renumber of 475 were advertised from the start back in April, you must have missed it. Pic is of #382 in Damascus,VA. on the Abingdon branch in 1957 Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/07/19 14:11 by warren1977. |
