Steam & Excursion > 4014 and the "Great Race Across the Southwest"Date: 11/06/19 06:49 4014 and the "Great Race Across the Southwest" Author: typebangin Here's a trimmed down version of the video I posted to YT with clips from Union Pacific's "Great Race Across the Southwest" with Big Boy #4014. I chased from Las Vegas, NV to El Paso, TX (October 8th to 20th) as UP 4014 traveled down the Los Angeles and Salt Lake, over Cajon Pass, and then east on the former Southern Pacific Sunset Route. This video has clips from the California, Arizona, and New Mexico. The last scene shows the Rail Giants excursion departing Barstow, CA on Sunday October 13th.
