Doubleheader in Chattanooga
Author: lapklub

Went over to Chattanooga on Sunday to catch the TVRM doubleheader with Southern 630 and 4501.  I've been wanting to go catch one of the doubleheader runs but like anything else I'll get it next time.  They have been running these doubles several times a year, so I finally decided to go get them.  In today's world you never know how long things will be around. Just think about the NS OCS F units.   My good buddy (AshevilleG) and I decided to spend the day in Chattanooga and see some Steam.  We were not disappointed.
1 - Coming out of the tunnel through Missionary Ridge
2 - Going by the old factory in Rossville
3 - North of Chickamauga going under US27.

A few more from our Steam trip of TVRM's Doubleheader trip on Nov 10. After the train got to Summerville we decided to do a little jaunt over to the CSX line along the Tennessee River between Chattanooga and South Pittsburg. We got lucky with CSX 210 with a SD40-2 leading.  That in itself is rare in today's world of PSR.  Then we headed back over to get the northbound Doubleheader coming back but somehow we snookered ourselves trying to get another shot and the train slid by us somewhere.  We never saw it or heard it .  Oh well.  Next time (I hope there is) we'll just stay put and wait!
4 & 5 - A couple more of 630 and 4501 before they get to Summerville.
6 - SD40-2 8839 with 210 along the Tennessee River at Nickajack Lake.

Photo #4 is a bit north of Lafayette, and #5 is near Martindale.

Thanks.  I kinda knew where they were but wasn't sure which town they were nearest to.

#4 = Noble, Georgia (Unicorporated)

Anyone remember the "crematorium case" of 2002?  National headlines originating in Noble, Georgia.  Easily web searched with keywords Tri-State Crematorium.
