One photo notes 1912. A number of them are obviously not in the USA

The largest number of these appear to be longitudinal(lap seam) failure of the boiler shell.

Few look like firebox crown sheet collapse.

What surprises me is that several appear to be failure of the front tube sheet.

All grim reminders.

Google search for the Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection & Insurance Company for their magazine "THE LOCOMOTIVE" as they recorded and included photographs of then recent boiler incidents collected from newspapers around the USA.  They did not identify the railroad but you can tell PRR by the Belpaire boiler.  One interesting incident was the owner of a sawmill at Monero, NM along the D&RG in 1893 heard a rivet pop and immediately crewed into his saw dust pile and saved himself when that boiler blew up.  Many of the  issues are still missing which is a shame as it is the only remaining record of Hartford's past work.  They destroyed all their historic collection of boiler explosions when they moved to a new office at Hartford, CT.  Nothing to the historical societies.

See the link in the post two below this post.  The Locomotive Magazine.

The 1912 San Antonio explosion killed 26 people in the GH&SA roundhouse. That explosion has been well documented. The superheaters laying on the frame is a 4-10-2 explosion that happened in Arizona.

Really? You are not aware of turbocharger explosions, or crankcase/oil pan explosions?
