Steam & Excursion > Good times at Durango.Date: 02/25/20 13:59 Good times at Durango. Author: DonWinslow Back in 65, it was a different time and was great. No restrictions about where ya could photograph, no pissed off local folks who hated the railroad, trains running both directions. I guess the coal tipple and water tank are gone now.

The new (present day) turning loop also ws installed in 1968 and goes essentially through the where the coal tipple is/was. Later excavation for highway 160/550 removed the real estate that you were standing on to take this photograph

I have a bunch more that I'll post in a short while. Don Winslow Glendora, CA http://www.donwinslow.net/Railroads |
