Good times at Durango.

Back in 65, it was a different time and was great. No restrictions about where ya could photograph, no pissed off local folks who hated the railroad, trains running both directions. I guess the coal tipple and water tank are gone now.

Water Tank came down in 1967.  Coal Tipple followed in 1968.  The new (present day) turning loop also ws installed in 1968 and goes essentially through the where the coal tipple is/was.  Later excavation for highway 160/550 removed the real estate that you were standing on to take this photograph

That's why I posted this photo. I wanted to show how it looked back in the old days. I have a bunch more that I'll post in a short while.
