Steam & Excursion > Steam Question from the "Stooges" from 1936.Date: 02/28/20 08:55 Steam Question from the "Stooges" from 1936. Author: ExStarlightHog In the opening scene of "Grips, Grunts & Groans" from 1936 shows the 4321? with a two digit train number coming into a most likely SoCal station. Anyone know what station or train that was? Always wondered about that. Thanks.

I thought it looked like 26, but just a little too fuzzy to make out for me. Too bad they didn't hold the shot a little longer. Interesting that the engine was 4321 which is descending numerical order. Just watched that one last week, I too noticed that 4321 also, may or may not be intentional, the Stooges films included many "visual puns", that might be one? And about the 8968 thing, me and a friend were down in Tijuana, Mexico years ago and noticed a manhole cover with 1961 on it, and the 1's were straight lines, without the little curve on top, so either way, it read 1961 !, Wow Man!..beer helped too!
