GTW steam trip July 1968
Author: AndyBrown

Well I'm trying my hand at scanning B&W negatives and not having the best of luck but hopefully will get better.  Here are a couple that were labeled GTW steam fan trip July 1968.  No other info.  Photos by the late Charles Franzen of Washington IA.

I took your scan and made a couple of tweaks in Photoshop Elements.  Just adjusted the lighting and contrast a little.
Don't know what kind of scanner you have, but I use an Epson V700 and their software and you could do the tweaking to the preview scan and save the post processing.

Good start on scanning black and white. It takes a while.

Very nice!  I have a V600, will have to try fiddling with the settings more.  I had a hard enough time getting to this point!

Although I don't see myself, I'm in that crowd surrounding #5629's trailing truck, whose bearing was being repaired by Dick Jensen. He was down on the ballast with a greasy face, fixing his beloved hot-running baby. Thanks for sparking that memory! Be safe.
