More MILW steam in Iowa
Author: AndyBrown

Eastbound leaving Washington IA; not the greatest composition on the first one but at least it's something!  Photographer the late Charles Franzen.

This photo has great value aside from any consideration of photographic composition or "competence".  Just about any photo from this era has value to me, my waay of thanking you for the post.

Well, couldn't have had worse timing on the shutter, but I'll agree that I am glad to have seen this photo with it's faults rather than not seeing it at all.  Railroad photography in this era was expensive and challenging and as a result, there are some areas where photos are very scarce.   Great to see any photos of the late steam era.

A friend who has far more experience in railfanning than I once told me that "A bad picture is better than no picture".  These are welcome!
