Silverton not blocked. It already left and was in the first photo I posted a few days ago on this board. https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?10,4982487

That is the shortest charter passenger train I've ever seen on the narrow gauge.

A passenger train to Farmington, charter or not, is a rare beast, and as Earl says in this case a very short one. Wonder if the
group split between South and North.

I think we may have film footage of the June 65 trip with 483, but it does not cover the Farmington Portion.  There is footage going east to Alamosa the next day.  We also have a very short 5 car excursion with 484 taken likely in 64-65, which was one of the shortest ever over the whole route.  Do you have any shots the next day, or of a short train with an yellow open car on the rear between Durango and Chama?
Cool photo.  There was once a trip(1958) to Farmington led by 493.  Have film footage of that one.  I think there was a washout on the Silverton line that year.

Sorry Greg but these were the only photos I have with this train.
