Simply GREAT way of showing an unseen part of the fireman's life. Wow!
It should be noted that the 484 really didn't really need all that much water, but was just "topping off", and did it in 1 minute 16 seconds. Looks like maybe 500 gallons. But, "in the day",.... imagine being a fireman in a thunderstorm - freezing rain - and having to add thousands of gallons. Wow! And, Thanks. -John Stein aka LD Date: 07/14/20 15:27 Re: C&TSRR = Locomotive 484 Getting Water Author: Wacky-roger1942 LarryDoyle Wrote:

What always amazed me talking to the old heads I fired for, the old heads they fired for would spot the water spout from a dead run. Looking at this videa, there isn't a whole lot of room for errorr to do that. If they did, they were true air brake artists.
Good shots. Sam Date: 07/15/20 04:14 Re: C&TSRR = Locomotive 484 Getting Water Author: Wacky-roger1942 Mudrock Wrote:
