Steam & Excursion > ATSF 2926 Update August 8, 2020Date: 08/10/20 11:10 ATSF 2926 Update August 8, 2020 Author: Cumbresfan The 2926 work site has been shutdown for more than 4 months now due to COVID-19 restrictions mandated by New Mexico State Governor Lujan-Grisham. It was partially re-opened this past weekend but only for select volunteers called to work by the CMO. No visitors or non-working members onsite at this time. Work involves some tasks left wanting at the closure in March plus a whole new set of tasks on our new tool car which was delivered to us during the closure. Links to recent photos below:

Covid-19 crew briefing by medical doctor and Society president, Dr. Michael Hartshorne. 2. Dynamo repair 3. Getting ready to move the toolcar for interior work. Its storage location is beside the GSA warehouse platform and for work it's pulled back to the engine work area where tools and equipment are readily available. We can use some more donations to complete the interior for travel use; the GoFundMe link is below: http://www.gofundme.com/SantaFe2926 Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 08/10/20 11:39 by Cumbresfan. If you're leaving dry food out for the kitties then you're also feeding the skunks and raccoons too!

Dry food is available 24/7 at the 2926 foamer cat feeder shown at the far left in the first two photos. It's mounted above ground (like a bird feeder) and the entrance/exits are large enough for cats (maybe not the fat ones) but too small for other critters. There are detailed pictures some place in the photo albums but I can't remember where.

We were literally hours from steaming up when the NM Governor issued the first COVID-19 order restricting mass gatherings and prohibiting work except for essential businesses and services. And everything has been on hold since then until limited work resumed this past weekend. We have our annual open house each year at the end of September and it's likely it too will be canceled.
