Always a class operation; here`s a few views from 1978. The 0-6-0 is undergoing a complete overhaul, it will be great to se her in operation again. The ex Reader RR 2-6-2 proved too light as time went on, and was sold. Apparently it`s now privately owned and in pieces, doubtful she`ll ever steam again.

It was nice to get the 0-6-0 actually working a freight move, almost a timeless shot.

The ex MC 44T was also sold, and is still in operation today I believe. Nice paint! Amazing shot in front of the classic Conway station, I was surprised not to have another person in sight!

First-class set of images. Your catch of the 0-6-0 with the flatcar is my favorite. What a rare catch!

Great post!  Here's that same 0-6-0 in August 2019, now carrying her original CN number 7470.

If you look close, you'll note while as No. 47, she
still had her 7470 number plate.

I agree - great post.  Didn't know she ever was done
up as No. 47.  Don't recall coming across the GREEN
2-6-2, either.  What did people say - about a green
locomotive, lol!

Where did the 108 go?    Will she run there?   I remember seeing her dead at the Reader Railroad.

Info online shows the 108 has changed hands several times since her stint on the Conway Scenic. It some point she was dismantled with a thought to rebuild, but nothing came of it. She's still in pieces somewhere, but it's doubtful she'll ever steam again.

"The first thing we'll do is take it all apart!"

When you hear that, grab your wallet!
That said, there's so many locos that now lie in pieces.

I'd like to compile a list of all those poor specimens, that were saved,
then "we're gonna rebuild it!"  fate.

What a *!!§§##! shame that happened to so many specimens.
Now their certain future is the pieces to the scrap furnace..
