Santa Steam in Florida
Author: RWS4449

On Saturday, December 12th, 2020 the U.S. Sugar Company operated the Sugar Express Santa Train on the South Central Florida Express Railroad to distribute toys to needy children in the central Florida farming communities around Lake Okechobee.
The train was powered by recently restored EX Florida East Coast Railway 4-6-2 steam locomotive # 148 with PV Office car Georgia bringing up the markers.
The train made stops at Moore Haven, Clewiston, Belle Glade and Port Mayaca, Florida.

The following photos are from the chase on Saturday:

Thanks for the look.  I believe that the locomotive was in Traverse City, MI maybe 10 years ago.  Nice to see that someone finally got it running.

Haaahaaa, Merry Christmas Don!......I'm just glad this is getting some coverage here, you don't see much anywhere about 148 other than its fakebook page.

Cheers, Dave
