They are endemic to every photographer it would seem, and Arthur Rothstein of FSA fame was no exception. Like good Scotch, however, eighty plus years has made this one even better. On his way up the Rio Grande River Valley to document the potato harvest in October 1939, the signage leaves little doubt as to where he was when he took it.

Yet there it is.

103X looks to be a C-43, sure don't remember many shots of that class especially with the Vandy tender, interesting shot.

If that's a 2 that would make it a C-41, same general class as used to build the K-37s. Makes the tender a bit more of a mystery.
