Waiting For A New Buyer, She Was One Of The Largest Ever Built!
Author: LoggerHogger

Turned out of the Corey Pennsylvania plant of the Climax Locomotive Company in April, 1927, this was one of the last Climax locomotives to be built as all manufacturing of Climax's ended in June, 1928.  This 100-ton Climax was also one of the very larges Climax's ever constructed.

Ordered new by the Timberland Development Company of Ladysmith, B.C., she would work for them only 10 short years.  We see her parked in a dealers yard in Vancouver, B.C. in November, 1938 awaiting a new buyer to come along.    Industrial Timber Mills, LTD would buyer her in 1939 and put her to work in the woods out of Youbou, B.C. for the next 5 years.  In 1945 she would be sold to her final operator when British Columbia Forest Products would buy her and give her the #5 for work in the woods out of Nitnat, B.C..

By 1959, the logging days were finally over for this modern and quite large Climax.  The only buyer who wanted her at this point was the scrapper who valued her only for the many tons of metal that she could yield.
