BM&R 425 on Easter Bunny Express 34 years ago OTD

On 4/19/87 I headed over to the Blue Mountain & Reading to check out the BM&R 425 pulling their Easter Bunny Express between South Hamburg and Temple,PA. Top shot of the 425 side by side with BM&R 300 decorated and staffed appropriately for the event at South Hamburg,PA.  Roster shot of the 425 which was originally built for the Gulf Mobile & Northern by Baldwin in 1928.  Bottom shot just south of Hamburg coming into Five Locks,PA.

Top shot heading back northbound crossing the Maiden Creek bridge just above Ontelaunee,PA.  Middle shot at Shoemakersville with Engineer : Charlie Kachel doing the honors.  Bottom shot of BM&R 300 crossing Water St. in Shoemakersville with all the Bunnies out on the back.

The sun came out for most of the second trip of the day and the top shot is southbound coming through Shoemakersville.  Middle shot again crossing the Maiden Creek bridge.  Last shot of the return trip heading back north just above Shoemakersville.  Thanks Easter Bunny !

Nice photos down memory lane.  Love the original look of the engine in black paint and headlight mounted on the top of the smokebox.
