Steam & Excursion > Fantasy front endDate: 06/24/21 12:21 Fantasy front end Author: Frisco1522 I'll catch hell for this, but its hottern hell anyway.
Every time I mention my Frisco OCD about RBM&N 425 and moving the headlight down to center, it brings 'em out of the woodwork. So out of boredom today, I went ahead and did it. I'm hiding under the desk now, bring it on. My apologies to whoever I "borrowed" the picture from. The devil made me do it. I hope it is OK with you. I didn't have a nice front end view of her. In fact your series of photos are excellent and I'll take it down if you don't approve. Hmmmmm.............black with Frisco doric stripes? Date: 06/24/21 15:14 Re: Fantasy front end Author: tomstp Head lights belong in the center of the smoke box, may a little drop centered, on standard gauge engines. I love em there.
Date: 06/24/21 15:23 Re: Fantasy front end Author: 462pacific Off center, such as SP used, are the best. Any old non-descript steam loco has the light centered.

The Pennsylvania, CB&Q and the Santa Fe would probably disagree. Date: 06/25/21 05:58 Re: Fantasy front end Author: choodude HotWater Wrote:

Cheers, Dave Date: 06/25/21 11:44 Re: Fantasy front end Author: wcamp1472 When you own the railroad AND the locomotive,
you get to paint the loco any color you like.. and run it as often as you want... AND get to move the headlight where you want. Spurious, irrelevant comments are best ignored. However, photo modifications may be intriguing, if carefully done.... as is the case here. In the early 1990s, at the BandO Museum ( Baltimore) we experimented with moving the C&O 614's headlight from a deck between the pilot-mounted air compressors, to smokebox door, centered position.. There may be photos of that "Nickel Plate Northern".... LOL.. W. Date: 06/25/21 11:57 Re: Fantasy front end Author: Finderskeepers |
