Steam & Excursion > WMSR, 9/11/2021

While in the area on Saturday, took time to chase WMSR's Frostburg excursion.
Stop #1 was at Helmstetter's Curve,  the train had to stop short of the Cash Valley Rd. crossing and flag due to inoperable signals. A MD. State trooper also showed up at the same time.
There is a sign on the door of the GAP Trail's porta-jon that will get your attention...
The trail itself was very busy with a charity bike race.

Stop #2 was at Trimble Rd. in Slabtown, just west of MT. Savage.
The signal bridge marked a section of CTC -controlled double track that went west about 3.5 miles.
There is a restored WM signal head on the upper left of the bridge, facing east.
