On the way to exploring old mining ruins
Author: SlideSellerII

Not being really familiar with where to get some good shots of the DSNG, I happened on to this spot. DSNG 473 & 480 are doubleheading the 0900 train to Silverton, CO. Google maps says the spot is Durango, CO, but I'm probably 10 miles or so from Durango. Not much to say about the shot so I'm posting it without a 1000 word essay.

Well done - Your photo catches how sharp that S-curve is!

Yah well, there's something to be said for shots other than people's favorite spots.

It is the only overhead highway crossing on the entire 45 mile branch just south of Rockwood.  Next time ride the train through the wilderness to Silverton and expand your interest in the San Juan Country.

Is that an order or are you normally an ao?

I was there in 1983, camping at the KOA near that S curve and got a few photos there as well.  Good photo!

Easy there sir, this place is on instant kill enough already (and yes that includes me), a little "sigh and so what":
goes a long way.
