Steam & Excursion > 3985 and 4014 with the Gateway Arch, 11 years apartDate: 10/05/21 07:27 3985 and 4014 with the Gateway Arch, 11 years apart Author: i64west 3985 (departing) and 4014 (arriving) pass in front of the Gateway Arch on the MacArthur Bridge's western approach in downtown St. Louis, 11 years apart. The cool October morning in 2010 along with 3985's safeties popping off made for a great visual show. A much bigger crowd was present for 4014.

I don't even see any steam coming from 4014..... Date: 10/06/21 07:44 Re: 3985 and 4014 with the Gateway Arch, 11 years apart Author: TractiveEffort rgzfan Wrote:

Shame about the added graffiti ... but, such is life. I wish one of the eastern RRs would operate such a steam shop. Jim Lee Lake Hopatcong, NJ Date: 10/06/21 09:06 Re: 3985 and 4014 with the Gateway Arch, 11 years apart Author: radar TractiveEffort Wrote:

I do miss Steve Lee & Co. and that gorgeous Challenger engine. Built for speed and weight!! |
