Steam & Excursion > WP 165

Can anyone report how the runs at the Portola museum went today.  I passed the museum on hiway 70 and saw smoke and steam so I know they got 165 running.  Just wondering how it went.

There was some video of today's run presented on Facebook and it gave the appearance that things went very well. The little steamer pulled a consist of freight cars with a wooden WP caboose. It was fantastic!

I am working on posting some video and photos later today.

WP 165 ran beautifully.  She pulled a train of about 800 tons which consisted of a WP mill gondola, 4 WP tank cars, 2 WP steel boxcars, a WP wood flat car and WP 645 wood caboose.  FRRS Chief Founder Norman Holmes got a spin in the cab.  It should be noted that the caboose was one he owned and had at his house for his privae railroad, which helped form the start of the FRRS and the WP Museum.
