Boiler in Durango CO
Author: BlackWidow

I was in Durango last week and went to the D&S museum.  Out back there was a boiler sitting on blocks.  I believe all I saw all the steam engines on the D&S roster, so it wasn't one of those.  And it seems like it would be too small for one of those.  Does anyone know what engine that boiler is from?

I seem to recall they were doing boiler work on one of the two C-19's from Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, CA.

It looks like somebody laid out a grid on the boiler shell for an ultrasound thickness survey.

Knott's Berry Farm #41. They are doing a complete rebuild on it.

Considering the costs involved, and the way things are with Corporate America today, it's real good news that the parent company of Knott's Berry Farm is spending the money to rebuild this engine.  I spent many days and nights running and firing that engine back in the 1980's.
