Steam & Excursion > UP steam-era boiler incidents, other than 9018Date: 03/11/23 13:46 UP steam-era boiler incidents, other than 9018 Author: 5511_ There's plenty of information about the 9018 when researching UP boiler explosions, but google fails to turn up much else. I remember seeing a couple of photos in the book "A locomotive Engineer's Album" by George B. Abdill showing the aftermath of a crown sheet failure on one of the vauclain 2-8-0's, back when they were still numbered in the 1600-series. Doesn't give a specific road number or much other info. Does anyone know more about this one or any others on the UP that are less well known?
